Bliss series are new cymbals made in the ancient tradition. Every one is an individual work of art, painstakingly hand forged, and hand hammered.
They have a warmth that seduces at low volume and thunders with a froth of dark undertones at more extreme volumes. These cymbals come alive, shimmering and wobbling as if the mere touch of human hands excites the cymbal and it can’t wait to get it’s voice out there and sing.
They are exceptionally resilient and slightly soft on the stick. The undertones are warm, rich, dark with an edge of dragon’s breath. Each one is a unique, complex voice that will excite your imagination.
This 24” Bliss ride provides an excellent rounded and woody stick attack sound with the clear ping of a flat ride. It has a delightful vintage style wobble from bell to edge and a small distinctive-sounding bell. This is a flag ship cymbal of Dream and there is only one other like it- the Contact series version. All the control and definition of a flat ride without the annoying thin harmonics and unbalanced sound found in a typical flat ride. the secret lies in the hand hammering and smallest of bells. and a bit of magic dust. The bell, though a small target is clear and pitched, never brash. The most outstanding feature is the simmering huge pot of broth that washes under that clear but complex stick sound when riding. The tones are complex but more controlled than the 22" crash ride, but support the ride pattern with a warm intensity that can leap out with thunder when coaxed. The overtones are a subtle mix that won't get in the way of the rest of the band but also won't let the bottom fall out of the time. The time is supported on a rolling wave of surf, with a roar in the distance.
