Dream 20" Dark Matter Energy Ride

The DARK MATTER family consists of three distinct models: Flat Earth, Moon Rides and Dark Matter Energy. Although the designed and production methods are very different for these three models, one thing they all have in common is that they have been through DREAM's special "Dark Matter Process".

This process involves returning an already finished cymbal to the ovens for repeated rounds of heating and hand hammering only then to shock it with a cold water bath. The result is a cymbal that is pure bronze on the inside, but with ash and soot from the oven fused with the top layer of metal. The extreme stresses and heat from this process create a cymbal that is so dramatically changed on a molecular level that they take months or aging to mature. By double tempering the Energy ride, we have created a drier and more complex cousin. They take several months of aging resulting in a truly unique dry ride. Totally worth the wait.

DARK MATTERS are essentially cymbals that have been created twice. Their unique burned finish make each a visually stunning work of art.

The Energy Ride sound is powerful but with an uncanny stick clarity making these a spectacular combination of dark sound but total clarity of definition. Though weighted as rides their unique personality make them awesome beasts of a crash when you hit em hard with huge long sustains.
