Hey Dano! These are definitely unique and beautiful drums. The 18" does in fact have 4 legs on it. It's called a "Gunshot" snare and can either be placed on the side of a working kit where you might put your floor toms or an auxiliary snare drum OR (as seen in the video below) it can be positioned directly in front.
