Pearl's Vision Birch VBX drums are one of the best mid-range 100% Birch drum sets on the market today. Birch has long been recognized for its focused, naturally EQ'd sound, ideal for both stage and studio. Pearl offers nine standard Vision Birch configurations, more than any other drum manufacturer.
Pearl has applied design features from its popular high-end Reference line to make the Vision series unique. Pearl Vision VBX shells have varying thicknesses: all rack toms and the 14x14 floor tom feature 6-ply, 7.5mm-thin shells while 16x16 and 18x16 floor toms and all kick drums feature 8-ply 10mm-thick shells. All Vision VBX drums feature Reference-look lugs, and bass drum claws. All toms have two ply batter heads and single-ply resonant heads while bass drums feature "Perimeter EQ" heads similar in function to Remo's Powerstroke 3 or Evans EQ3 models. Rack toms are mounted with Pearl's famous ISS suspension mounts using TH-900I uni-lock tom arms. All Pearl Vision VBX drum sets include a 14x5.5 Steel SensiTone snare drum.
