Again, Evans we set our sight on an area many drummers ignore: the snare side. The Staccato Disk is a flat circle of Retro Screen mesh designed to work with both the MX and MS snare side heads, providing three additional options for overtone suppression. Evans snare side heads feature a built-in overtone control ring which holds the Staccato Disk in place. Before installation, insert Staccato Disk under the internal overtone control ring, alligning the six large holes under the snare wires for slight overtone suppressions (dry). To increase articulation, turn the disk 90 degrees lining up the 4 large holes over the snare wires (drier). For maximum articulation and overtone suppression, turn the disk 45 degrees lining up a combination of small and large holes (driest). The Staccato Disk is particularly viable for indoor marching venues where maximum note definintion is required.
